El Centro Launches eSports Website
DALLAS -- Dallas College El Centro announced the launch of a new website for its eSports program in the spring of 2024. Information regarding the Eagles' eSports program can be found at www.elcentroeagles.com.
El Centro eSports program is a part of the seven-campus Dallas College eSports program, which began in the spring of 2022. El Centro and Dallas College eSports compete as National Junior College Athletic Association eSports members. Various titles from sports games such as Madden, NBA 2K and FIFA to first person shooter titles including Call of Duty, Rainbow Six Seige, League of Legends, Super Smash Brothers, Valorant and Overwatch are offered in the Dallas College eSports program.
In the first two years of Dallas College eSports' existence, three FIFA and one NBA 2K national champion have been crowned.
A student attending any Dallas College campus who meets the minimum academic requirements can participate in eSports. eSports students are required to be enrolled in 12 credit hours per semester, and carry a minimum grade point average of 2.00.
